What is the most suitable age range for circumcision?
Circumcision can be performed at any age under local or general anesthesia if there is no medical necessity. However, in order not to cause psychological trauma, it is more recommended by pediatric surgeons to perform it outside the age of 2-5, which is the period of sexual identity development of children (either before the age of 2 or after the age of 6).
How long should my child be hungry on the day of surgery?
Fasting periods in children differ from adults according to age and breast milk/formula intake. Generally, 4 hours of fasting is required for babies who are only breastfed, and 6-8 hours for children who are fed solid food, but our anesthesiologist will inform you of the clearest and safest time after the examinations.
